Chevrolet launched the seventh-generation Corvette (colloquially called C7) for the 2014 model year. Offered as a coupe and as a convertible, it offered a more user-friendly interior, a sharper-looking exterior design, and, significantly, the then-new LT1 small-block V8. Production of the C7 ended in 2019.
The Z06 model arrived for 2015 with a supercharged V8, carbon fiber body panels to keep weight in check, wider rear fenders, and several chassis upgrades. It was also the first Z06 available with an automatic transmission, and Chevrolet pegged the Z06’s zero-to-60-mph time at 2.95 seconds in 2015.
