Description
Offered here Is a beautiful 1975 Type 21 VW Transporter that was customized into a Camp Van in London in the 1980’s. The cabinets for the stove-top and the sink were updated at a later date here in California. The current and second owner is an avid car collector/restorer and purchased this vehicle in London in 1980. He claims this van is extremely rare because it was ordered from the factory with twin walk-through sliding side doors. He states he has never seen another van of this year with a pair of sliding doors.
Power comes by a rebuilt 1600cc engine. The van stops with disc brakes front, drums rear. A new steering box has been installed. New Teal Blue and Bright White exterior paint with pinstripe were applied three years ago which is very striking and appealing. The refrigerator is metric and runs on the electrical. If you wish for propane also, a tank will need to be added. The sink has a new 6-7 gallon water tank. New carpet is installed throughout. All upholstery, door panels, dash, gauge cluster, door rubbers and all other interior appointments show as near-new. The ocean wave and palm tree art on the refrigerator door and the front spare tire cover are hand-painted and airbrushed.
